buy fresh seafood

where in Edmonton Canada can I buy seafood to make sushi?
Can I use the salmon sold in Superstore. They're titled fresh but I dont know if they're fresh enough. Please advice. Thank you
I would try the T&T Supermarket at the West Edmonton Mall or in the Chinatown area downtown around 95-97 th st and 100 th av. You want fresh fish, tuna, snapper, sole, octopus, squid and shrimp, salmon is fine but not the best for sushi, others like yellowfin are available in Asian fish or grocery's, I used to live in Edmonton for 2 years in the 1980's when I worked at the Chefs Table at 156th st and 111th av

Tip 1 How to buy fresh fish

pull the flap that looks like his chest or tummy off and get out all the crap out of the cavity and wash it, after that if thier already cooked make a salad and serve in the crabs hollow chest, the meat is in the rest of the shell!
GOOD LUCK,
I second the “eat at Mo’s” sentiment. In fact, you should go to Newport for several days if you’ve got the time. Don’t stay in Newport – find accommodations in Waldport to the south. Then drive up to Newport and check out their stuff. They’ve got a museum trifecta that’s pretty cool (Ripley’s, the Wax Works, and an aquarium), the Oregon Coast Aquarium is down there and is totally awesome, and over on the bayfront there are a load of incredible shops. One that you absolutely should not miss out on is Pirate’s Plunder, where they sell an eclectic mix of pirate-themed merchandise and antiques. There’s also a shop right on the ocean where you can buy fresh seafood to take home and eat, and the crab is incredible.
My friends told me about the place. Can buy the fresh seafood, they'll icepack for u. Not keen on buying, so didnt go. I am of the opinion that if l want to worry about food and money, l might as well stay home.
Yes, I did see some men bringing boxes out of the freezer section. I figured two days of fresh seafood was well worth the not having to worry about calories!
ok quick…just use your "gut" feelings…….
they should have been cleaned … de-gilled, liver and junk removed … by the people that were selling them.
i would order a pizza … cause the last thing you need is getting your "wonderful woman" sick!
