This website has a great guide on how to prepare fresh crab:

If you haven't already, while you're looking up ways to gut your crab, put them in a bowl of ice, in the fridge to thwart bacteria growth.

Always ask for the country of origin information. I never buy seafood from China and i am suspicious of most other countries as well. We don’t test any of it and when we do, it has poor results.

From a to z or the most you like to the least hope I helped

Ok, I am super organized and I have my recipes sorted by meats and then by ethnicity, etc. Crazy I know, but I can always find what I'm looking for then. For breads I just put it under breads. And for desserts I catorgorize by pies, cakes, cookies, etc. I also have my recipes in a notebook and bought the clear protector covers with tabs and placed all my recipes in that and it's easier to flip through and find things and also the page protectors protect the recipes from water or recipe ingredients. =)

I love Christian music, particularity Christian hip-hop. in the same sense, i have a certain measure of respect for certain secular musicians. i understand the need to seclude ourselves to non-secular music in order to maintain a positive lifestyle and certain moral values. what i don't agree on is limiting ourselves to music and artists that can sometimes be tired and subpar. granted, there are a few amazing christian hip-hop artists, but one gets tired of listening to these same people over and over again. many times, as christians looking for music to combat the secular, we cut alot of artists alot of slack and accept their music as nice even though alot of it is whack.
I'm not a rapper, but as a consumer i'm entitled to my opinion. i love the lord, and the fact that i tolerate some secular artists doesn't change that. there's alot of good christian artists out there and an even more overwhelming amount of bad ones. the same goes for the secular.
as a connoisseur of the art i feel the need to play both parts.
i mean – it doesn't make sense to only buy seafood in montgomery country because you're trying to support Maryland, when the fish in Orlando is so much better.

ps: most people who don't believe in secular hip-hop are at most times listening to the wrong thing. people need to turn off the radio and BET and given conscious artists like Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, coppershot, Little Brother, and Lupe Fiasco, who have interesting commentaries that could positivly affect society, a chance.

okay, first go by very basic category, like:

    Meats
    Pastas
    etc.
or use the food pyramid to find the right categories.

you can also go by categories such as "breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, desserts, appetizers, special events, etc."

as for your sesame chicken, i'd put it under the main category – chicken. but if you have a lot of recipes like that, and you don't know if you'll remember what category you put them under, file them under a "miscellaneous" category.

  8. Hi Emily, I love reading your blog. Keep up the great work. My shopping rules are:1. Try to buy food that is on sale or that is in a recipe I have planned for the week. Even better food on sale with a recipe plan! I need a plan on the items I am buying or I spend too much. 2. I only buy US or Canadian produce unless I absolutely have no choice like bananas. In rural ND, it is very limiting in the winter months. I once assumed I was buying US oranges and they were from South Africa. Seriously they had made it to the center of North America?3. Fish is my biggest concern. I don’t buy seafood that is not labeled in the US or Canada. I know a bit about aquaculture standards (or lack of!) and know that US and Canadian fish is best for my family.Going grocery shopping when my kids can stay with Grandma is the easiest! Otherwise I always have chaos but I guess I am used to that. :) Katie
