Many people happen to love food that they are allergic to. It's simply a matter of taste. I'm glad to hear that you have tasted fish that you liked. Poorly cooked fish is the WORST! I love fish, but I am not too crazy about seaweed. That tastes fishy to me. I sold fish for a living as an adult and helped around my cousin's fish-shanty as a kid. I find it very strange that many people "don't like fish" but they do like salmon. Salmon is one of the strongest tasting fish and one of the easiest to over-cook. If you would like to overcome your distaste for fish for health or whatever reasons, may I suggest you start with a fish called Tilapia. It is pink when raw and snow-white when cooked. A fillet the size of your hand should take no more than 8 minutes total time to fry in some butter or EVOO. Add some salt and pepper and a few drops of balsamic vinegar. Heaven. The stonger tasting the fish, the moister you want to cook it. Salmon is very nice poached in water with some lemon slices, peppercorns and bit of onion. Milder fish can stand the heat of frying. Two points to remember - there is a dark stripe down the middle of most fillets. This is very strong tasting, so cut it off and give it to the cat. lol No matter the method of cooking, rule of thumb is 5 minutes per side per inch of thickness. 2 inch thick piece of shark - 20 minutes 5 (min) x 2 ( inches) x 2 (sides) = 20 mins. And if you decide not to eat fish, then you just tell everybody you like your food from dry land and if they dont like it, don't invite you for a fish fry! Happy Eating!

Your dislike of seafood has nothing to do with allergies. Many people happen to love food that they are allergic to.
