What is the Best Way to Store Fresh Lobster?

I am going on a boat for 9 days and we plan on getting live lobster from some of the fishermen on an island. We plan on trading stuff for the lobster. My question is how do you prepare and store the lobster to eat down the road. Can we just snap the tails off and freeze them or do we have to pare boil them first before freezing them. We don't have a large pot to boil the entire lobsters. We are looking at getting about 25 of them.
i don't have that much room to store the entire lobster so I need to know if it is safe to remove the tail from the live lobster and freeze it right away or is this unsafe to do??
How do the markets do it??

Fresh Lobster keeps well on ice, but not for long.
Your best bet is to go fully prepared to handle the job.
Good Luck..and good eating. Take butter&salt.
