Have you ever ordered OYSTERS by mail? How did they taste to you? Any recommended shippers / suppliers?

I didn't grow up liking oysters but cultivated a taste for them as an adult. I now live far from a major city and my little town of 60,000 doesn't have any decent seafood restaurants with good oysters. So I've been looking on-line at some of the suppliers who will ship oysters to you in specially refrigerated packing and wondering if this might be a valid alternative.

Have you bought oysters this way before? How were they? Any recommendations?
Note: I would insist that the oysters a PASTEURIZED before buying. Note that this is something anyone should ask at a restaurant too so as to avoid bad or spoiled oysters. It costs about 25 cents more per oyster to have them pasteurized so not all restaurants buy them this way, relying on "trial and error" with customers as guinea pigs for determining if purchase source is reliable. So ask your waiter if they know if the oysters have been pasteurized and if they don't, to ask the chef.

Learned somethin' today, didn't cha?

Just make sure you squirt lemon juice on each one. If it cringes, you're good!
