How much is too much to order at a restaurant when a guy is taking you out?? Help!?

My boyfriend of 3 months is taking me out to eat for my birthday tonight. He is 29 and I am 24. I always feel bad ordering anything except the least expensive item on the menu. However, we are going to a seafood restaurant and I know they are not inexpensive at all!

What are the guidelines for this?? Help!

honestly since its your birthday i would thing in terms of food there really isnt too much. Because i mean it is your birthday and if he really didn't want to spend much on your birthday he would have probably done something for you at home instead.

The concept of Eataly is great, but eating there can be really fucking annoying. I ate there recently, and it kinda sucks that I’m limited to one theme of food. I was at the seafood-themed restaurant, and you could only order seafood related items. Getting an espresso means that I would have to get up and go to the espresso place, which is annoying considering how packed the place is anyways. The food wasn’t that great either… majority of it was very bland, and I could’ve had a nice sit down dinner elsewhere for the same price.

    WOW.
I'm a meat eater, and if someone did #3 to me I would so be, like, GET OUT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!!!
OMG, how rude can people be?
That's called, "sorry, I am a vegetarian, I do not eat meat and I will not be serving it. If you feel you must have meat, please feel free to bring your own."

1&2, those are harder for me to answer, but you might try telling those kinds of people that you have FOOD ALLERGIES, instead of being vegetarian. Vegetarian they feel they have the right to try to "convert" you…. ALLERGIES, they will be happy you didn't have a seizure from eating their food on their kitchen floor.
Sometimes little lies work better for that. People are not about to mess with you about what they think is a medical issue.
My brother's wife could not eat several foods when they got married, foods our family eats alot of, like garlic, onions and many things with soy and wheat in them… Turned out a few years into their marriage, she got tested, and they found out she has celiac disease, allergic to wheat gluten, all soy products and dairy!! They've had to change their entire lifestyle, esp. because both kids inherited the disorder! (Imagine being a kid and can't have cake, pizza, bread, chinese food, or ice cream!)
So problems eating certain foods, I completely get.

Good luck with all the A88holes!!
