What is the best fish to buy, Im really sensitive to that old fish, "fishy" taste. Is it better to buy in the supermarket or a seafood store, we have a seafood store in our town but it looks kinda shady. lol. I live in Michigan when is the best time to buy fresh fish? If you hate that "fishy" taste, it's best to just stay away from salmon. It seems especially pron to it. For where to buy, it depends what you're looking for. Cod, roughy, seabass, or pretty much anything from the ocean will be just as good at your grocery store as it is at the fish monger. They both get it in frozen (as do the restaurants) and that's how you should buy it too. That is with the exception of high end Tuna, with the popularity of sushi, they'll probably have a good supplier, but be prepared to pay top dollar, about $20 or so per pound. Make sure you're not getting previously frozen in that price range. But how do you know for sure? Ask and cross your fingers for an honest answer, it's really hard to know until you taste it. The fish monger will have great shell fish, like oysters and muscles and clams and local fish like pike, perch, bass and herring. Fish is extremely easy to cook on your own, there are lots of great recipes. A good way to start would be to find a recipe that cooks in a "bag" in the oven, find one that calls for white wine to make it just like the restaurants. You'll add the ingredients to the thawed fish, wrap it up and stick it in the oven. You'll never want to "waste" your money at the restaurant again!

It's an outdoor restaurant, under a tent, that prepares live seafood, made-to-order by renowned chefs. I heard it's about $30/person for all you can eat seafood. Where is this place?
